This course is broadly about the complex relationship between science and society. We will look at that relationship through the lens of science communication. At the same time, we will experiment with our own efforts to communicate science. I hope you will discover two things: first, that communication (and specifically science communication) can be a fascinating, complicated, multifaceted set of concepts, questions, and problems that aren’t external to the practice of science; and second, that learning to communicate about your own scientific practice is a worthwhile challenge.
